Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

Thanks to Jill from Breaking the Spine who started this weekly meme where we showcase the awesome books that we are drooling over before they are published!

I found this week’s book on an epic list from Epic Reads: The 20 Most Anticipated YA Books to Read in September. So thanks Epic Reads!

Kaz Brekker and his crew have just pulled off a heist so daring even they didn’t think they’d survive. But instead of divvying up a fat reward, they’re right back to fighting for their lives. Double-crossed and left crippled by the kidnapping of a valuable team member, the crew is low on resources, allies, and hope. As powerful forces from around the world descend on Ketterdam to root out the secrets of the dangerous drug known as jurda parem, old rivals and new enemies emerge to challenge Kaz’s cunning and test the team’s fragile loyalties. A war will be waged on the city’s dark and twisting streets―a battle for revenge and redemption that will decide the fate of magic in the Grisha world.

Last year I recieved the first book, Six of Crows, as a Christmas gift from my dad. While I haven’t started reading it, oh please don’t give me that look, I am planning on reading it during my reading break in October. What I really liked about Six of Crows, besides the beautiful cover, is that the edges of the pages are dyed black.

It is fucking gorgeous.

Has anyone else noticed the crown, or is it a cathedral roof, on the cover of Crooked Kingdom? Hmmm…foreshadowing?

Publication date is September 27, 2016!

I am so so excited for this to be released as well. Ever since I read Six of Crows I’ve been desperate to get my hands on this book so I can find out how it ends. Also I never noticed about the crown before, I always just assumed it was a cathedral roof but now you mention it it does look like a crown as well (that would be pretty amazing foreshadowing too)
Great pick for this week! 😀
